With an area of ​​59.5 km², the Mont-Orford National Park is located in the Estrie administrative region. The expansion project for Mont-Orford National Park began in 2006 with the passage of the Act to expand Mont Orford National Park, preserve the biodiversity of neighboring territories and maintain recreational tourism. As of 2006, approximately 50 km² of land has been set aside for the purpose of expanding Mont-Orford National Park. The subject lands were large-scale properties adjacent to the park, consisting of low fragmented and building-free forests. To date, 51.6 km² of land has been acquired by the ministry, of which 43.0 km² for the expansion of Mont-Orford National Park and 8.6 km² for the purposes of the adjacent biodiversity reserve project. .

D’une superficie de 59,5 km², le parc national du Mont-Orford se situe dans la région administrative de l’Estrie. Le projet d’agrandissement du parc national du Mont-Orford a démarré en 2006 avec l’adoption de la Loi permettant d’assurer l’agrandissement du parc national du Mont Orford, la préservation de la biodiversité de territoires limitrophes et le maintien des activités récréotouristiques. Dès 2006, environ 50 km² de terrains ont été mis en réserve pour fin d’agrandissement du parc national du Mont-Orford. Les terrains visés étaient des propriétés de grande superficie, adjacentes au parc, composées de forêts peu fragmentées et exemptes de bâtiments.
